This artistic timber house designed by Aidlin is inspired by the region?s agricultural structures, a main residence, detached garage, and artist?s studio nestle gracefully among existing redwoods. Board form concrete foundation walls carve into the ground, locking the buildings into the landscape. Indigenous woods, including reclaimed redwood doors and windows, create a warm interior, in contrast to the damp, cool environment of the northern coast. Spaces are gathered around a central living room and are anchored by a large concrete hearth.
